GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING JANUARY 18,  2012

The General Membership meeting of the NYC Verrazano 10-13 Association was held on Wednesday,  January 18, 2012.   There were 75 plus members in
attendance.  A Golf committee has been formed to select the venue for the golf outing.  Members were requested to help during the upcoming Fleet Week.
After the business of the Association was completed, the members were addressed by the Commanding Officer of the 122nd Precinct, Deputy Inspector Richard Gutch.  DI Gutch goes back a long time with many of the members of the Association.  Many of the retirees worked with him as a Sergeant on patrol in the 120th Precinct and other commands on Staten Island. Lieutenant Richard Perullo,  Special Operations Lieutenant,  122nd Precinct also spoke with many of the members one-on-one during the evening.

During his address to the members, DI Gutch recalled how many retirees from Staten Island responded on 9/11 to render assistance to the NYPD. He stressed how the bond between active and retired members of the NYPD is of great importance both to the NYPD mission and to the community.   Both he and his Special Operations Lieutenant,  Lt Richard Perullo broke bread with us and discussed many of the issues that effect retirees.

New member,  Police Recruit Anthony DeNatale who is attending the NYPD Police Academy and is the son of our President, was welcomed to the Association.
